VulPro

Holtzman Wildlife Foundation supported the Vulture Programme (VulPro) in South Africa using Charities Aid Foundation America as its intermediary.

In its first project, the foundation supported construction of a vulture veterinary clinic.

In its second grant for the project, the Holtzman Wildlife Foundation helped VulPro purchase veterinary equipment for its clinic.

Saving Injured Vultures

Since 2007, Vulpro has been transforming how the world sees vultures. Every day, it sees these remarkable birds facing threats from power lines, poisoning and human indifference.

Vulpro is a non-profit organization dedicated entirely to conserving Africa’s vulture species and the ecosystems they support. Through rescue, rehabilitation, release and captive breeding, it give injured or at-risk vultures a vital lifeline and help strengthen wild populations.

Protection Through Conservation

VulPro began as a rehabilitation facility, recognizing that each individual bird carries significant importance for the continuation of the species. Rehabilitation continues as one of VulPro’s key efforts, with all released individuals now contributing to research with coloured leg bands and/or tracking devices.
