Personhood for New York Chimpanzees

Holtzman Wildlife Foundation completed work to support the Project’s effort to establish legal personhood for captive chimpanzees in the state of New York.

Legal Rights for Nonhuman Animals

The Nonhuman Rights Project works through litigation, legislation and education to establish fundamental legal rights for nonhuman animals, with a focus on those animals that have the highest cognitive function, such as great apes, elephants, and cetaceans.
