Painted Dog Conservation
Holtzman Wildlife Foundation completed a grant to Painted Dog Conservation via the Wildlife Conservation Network to renovate an African Painted Dog rehabilitation center in Zimbabwe.
One of the Most Endangered Species in Africa
There were once 500,000 painted dogs in 39 countries, but now only 7,000 are thought to remain, with about 700 left in Zimbabwe—where Painted Dog Conservation, a partner of the Wildlife Conservation Network, operates.
Caring for Painted Dogs
The Holtzman Wildlife Foundation completed a grant to build a rehabilitation facility. Painted Dogs Conservation constructed a facility that helps sick and injured painted dogs in Zimbabwe, and that accommodates translocations of entire packs, which will help increase average pack sizes and overall painted dog numbers.
