Protecting the Tapirs of Costa Rica
The Holtzman Wildlife Foundation made a grant to Costa Rica Wildlife Foundation via its intermediary, Global Wildlife Conservation, to conduct a project to stop the poaching of tapirs on Costa Rica. The Costa Rica Wildlife Foundation utilized new technology to track the movement of tapirs. The project also launched a collaborative program with local communities, rangers and leaders to educate residents about the importance of protecting this iconic endangered species.
